Airport Information: 

If you are flying in, the DC Metro area is served by 3 airports:  Dulles International Aiport (Code: IAD),  Reagan National Airport (DCA) and Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI).  Visit popular travel websites like Orbitz.com, Travelocity.com, Cheaptickets.com to book your tickets.

Accomodation:

If you need overnight hotel accommodation, please visit popular websites like Hotels.com, Orbitz.com, Travelocity.com and search to hotels in Washington, DC, Silver Spring, MD, Falls Church, VA, Arlington, VA and Fairfax, VA.

Restaurants:

Food for lunch is available at the nearby Union Station food court.  The US House Office Buidlings’ cafeteria are open to the public also and have very decent fare, but lines could be long.  The nearest one is Rayburn HOB cafeteria and its in the basement.

Parking and Directions to West Lawn:

Free on-street parking for cars and vans are available. On streets adjacent to the nearby National Mall is available but limited to 2 or 3-hour posted regulations which are enforced strictly. Parking is also available in nearby commercial lots and garages.   Use popular map websites like mapquest.com, map.google.com etc. to find your directions (official address is: United States Capitol, 1st St NW, Washington, DC)

Public transportation to West Lawn:

Washington's subway system, called Metro, link the city with communities in nearby Maryland and Virginia.  The nearest Metro stop to get to the US Capitol are Union Station on the Red Line and Federal Center SW on Blue and Orange lines.  Some walking from the station to the Westlawn will be required.

Bus Parking

There is no parking available for private automobiles, buses, or other vehicles on Capitol Grounds. Buses may utilize Garfield Circle, at the intersection of First Street and Maryland Avenue, S.W., and Union Station, at 50 Massachusetts Avenue, N.E., to drop off passengers  [per US Capitol Police Website]

Near the National Mall, there are several areas where tour buses can park on a first-come, first-served basis, including West Potomac Park. For information on bus parking sites, contact the National Park Service Mall Operations Office at 202.426.6841. City Center Public Parking, located at 900 9th Street, NW, near the National Portrait Gallery and the Smithsonian American Art Museum, provides parking for 30 buses for a fee.
